The Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for but not limited to, business development and growth within the corporate, events, meeting, government and association market segments. The focus of the role is to consistently generate/gain new business and obtain financial goals. Relationship management with existing clients to ensure that the business is front of mind.

The Person

You are an experienced Business Development Manager within the events industry. As a natural sales hunter, you will thrive on seeking out opportunities within a new and existing client base, building lasting relationships and continually seeking to improve the company's growth.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and implement a target market and pipeline
  • Build and achieve new sales targets for audio visual and theming departments
  • Maximise opportunity within new client base to achieve full revenue/profit potential
  • Conduct and report on agreed amount of weekly calls and new business meetings
  • Build strong relationships with fellow employees and external clients
  • Develop and maintain contact with business generators including, meeting and convention planners, Convention Bureau, corporate accounts, government departments and other producers closely aligned to the event and meeting industry
  • Coordinate client entertainment programs throughout the year
  • Prepare monthly sales reports
  • Assist MD in developing and implementing annual sales plans
  • Work with integrity, have industry knowledge and enjoy a creative mindset
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service at all times
