Job Description


Our client is a leading name in the structural building products business. They have patented a number of industry standard designs and systems with a strong record in safety and service. Recent projects strech from large scale commercial buildings through to sports stadia all across Australia.

Recently they have undergone new developments and have grown market share substantially. An opportunity has now been created for an experienced Project Manager person to join their team


This is a key role for the business in which you will be project managing between 50-100 small - medium sized jobs at once, whilst supervising a project supervisor and administrator. Please note this would be mainly office based, so candidates would need to be commutable to Wetherill Park

Other duties include:

  • Responsible for the effective planning and coordination of project design, fabrication andinstallation activities, as required
  • Review and finalize project labour costs with sales team
  • Review suitability and provide constructive input for final system design with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare complex system operations and handover manuals including but not limited
    finalizing of as built drawings
  • Review and execute contract documentation in accordance with company guidelines
  • To conduct formal planning meetings with key project staff prior to and as necessary
    during the course of all projects under the incumbents control
  • Prepare and maintain on a daily basis for the 14 day period ahead a works
    program/register for all works in progress
  • Coordinate with storeperson, suppliers and head office despatch as required on project
    materials, specialized fabrtication items, priority & requirements.
  • Regularly review contracting procedures with supervisors, and field staff and make
    changes as necessary to reduce job costs and maximise profits.
  • Estimate, prepare and submit contract variation claims and submissions.
  • Utilize complete project data; monitor ongoing project costs, develop in a timely manner accurate project costs to complete reports and highlight as necessary significant project cost variations
  • Closely monitor outstanding debtors and, as necessary, initiate the recovery of
    outstanding monies in conjunction with Administration staff
  • Determine and control current and future manpower levels and distribution requirements
  • Monitor both sub-contractor labour costs and employee time sheets in accordance with
    the project budget
  • Negotiate & allocate installation rates with sub-contract crews

  • A project management background within building materials space - min 5 years
  • A structural background would be highly desirable but not essential
  • The ability to manage multi projects worth $100-300k
  • Experience in on site inspections
  • Stable career history
  • current drivers license
