Job Description


Our client is a national leading flooring organisation with near 50 years expertise in the Australian market. They are a highly reputable multi-faceted business with focus on the commercial, retail and trade markets who are currently expanding their presence across Australia. Due to the expansion of their product range, an opportunity exists for a talented and up and coming National Key Account Manager from within the flooring industry, to take charge of a number of existing national accounts.


Working closely with the Managing Director, you will be championed with driving sales through the major retail flooring buying groups. News products will be live in the near future, so a key area of focus would be product development. Key to this role is enthusiasm and initiative. Essentially your mandate is to maximise the market share and grow the annual revenue base.


  • National Key Account Management of a number of high profile retail accounts within Flooring Xtra, Carpet Court, Carpet Call, Choices, Floorworld
  • This would involve regular travel to Melbourne and occasional travel to Brisbane
  • Working closely with the National Marketing Manager to developing exiting and new product ranges
  • Quoting clients with a range of products and other requirements
  • Identifying new markets to develop
  • Market Planning and positioning
  • Product development and implementation
  • Building long term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic planning for new products
  • Continuous training for products and services
  • Executive negotiations and presentations


  • A senior account management background specifically from within the flooring, tiles, rugs or carpet industry
  • Knowledge of the retail | reseller market - specific knowledge of Choice's, Flooring Xtra, Carpet Call, Floorworld or Carpet Court is essential
  • Experience at head office / national account level in the above retail businesses
  • Strong organisational, planning and negotiating skills
  • A polished presenter - articulate and well presented
  • Thgis role requires regular travel to melbourne and occasional travel to Brisbane
  • Leadership qualities
