An opportunity has recently become available for an experienced and suitably qualified Management Accountant to join the team based in stunning head offices in North Western Sydney.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The role is hands on and will work closely with the Senior Management team and CFO to prepare various reports and provide analysis to proactively support continued business improvement and success.

Responsibilities will include

  • Lead the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and Board dashboards
  • Continually adapt and improve monthly board pack and all aspects of reporting
  • Assist in the annual budget cycle
  • Assist with all statutory compliance obligations
  • Prepare key business metrics including margins, analysis of problem jobs, overhead expenditure vs budget, land holdings, funding facilities and costs, forecast job number and job value under construct etc.
  • Preparation for both internal and external audit annually (external) and quarterly (internal)
  • Manage motor vehicle fleet
  • Assist with feasibility assessment of potential new projects
  • Initiate action to maximize project profitability
  • Proactively manage Accounts Payable and Receivable functions and staff
  • Proactively manage the Payroll function including superannuation
  • Ensure all taxation, compliance and reporting obligations are met

Skills and experience

  • A relevant finance or business degree
  • Registered CPA or Accountant or Chartered Accountant or studying towards
  • Ideally five years post grad experience
  • Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong internal and external client focus
  • Passionate and committed about performance and continual improvement
  • Ability to motivate and lead a small team and drive a positive culture
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced business environment
  • Open and transparent communication style

What you'll get in return
