Job Description

Our client is one of Australia's largest, publicly listed waste management company. With over 4,000 employees in more than 200 locations across Australia, they work with a diverse range of customers from small businesses through to government agencies and large multi-national clients.

The Key Account Manager is responsible for providing key single point account management within a defined key account list and industry portfolio. Responsibility covers full customer account management through retention and generation of customer revenue and profitability for all our client's products and services provided, customer service and satisfaction, ensuring product / service delivery with operational excellence and credit performance.


  • Sell and account manage all of our client's services within the Key Accounts assigned as defined within the personal objectives set / regional sales targets / OPOC growth targets
  • Proactively source new business / pipeline opportunities within the industry portfolio assigned as per set stage
  • Ensure portfolio of customers is secure under contract / service agreement as per set targets
  • Understand and act in accordance with the company's vision, mission and values and positively contribute to the company's culture
  • Ensure CRM is completed accurately, efficiently and within expected timeframes
  • Undertake any other duties, accountabilities and responsibilities as directed

Skills & Experience Needed

  • Moderate commercial / industry business to business experience
  • Moderate medium / large account management experience
  • Proven experience in converting prospects / quotes to profitable new business or developing existing clients
  • Ability to utilise interpersonal and sales skills at multiple levels within a customer to maximise sales
  • A strong customer focus
  • Proven ability to manage time and competing priorities effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven skills in the area of financial principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assessed and competent in use of CRM Sales Advantage
  • Demonstrated cold calling and business development skills
  • Sales and Account Management training
