Our Client is a well-established multinational freight forwarding company that is headquartered in Japan. Based in Alexandria. Our Client is one of steadily fast-growing freight forwarding companies in Australia that provides Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, 3PL, Warehousing and Project Services. They have two offices both in Sydney and Melbourne.

Our Client is seeking an experienced Customs Broker who will be supporting and working with the customs department with relevant experience, right personality and qualifications. The ideal candidate must enjoy a fast-paced working environment and have good work ethics, communication skills, EDI experience and freight forwarding experience.

About the role:

  • Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable legislations and regulations to facilitate the import and export of cargo.
  • Endure correct tariff classifications, duties and taxes for a various range of clients and process payments on their behalf.
  • Lodgement of Tariff/ Valuation Advices
  • Quarantine entry clearance and import permit applications
  • Complete Tariff Advices, Refunds, Valuation Advices, Drawbacks, Biosecurity permit applications and other client requests.
  • Liaising with Customs/ Quarantine and client enquires
  • Ensure that the company complies with the Australian Border Force and Department of Biosecurity requirements in relation to the total business including Warehouse Legislation.

Skills and experience required:

  • 1 or 2 years' experience as the Customs Broker
  • Must be Quarantine Accredited
  • Good understanding of Customs and quarantine regulations
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with Australian Border Force and Department
  • Good Customer Skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of using EDI/ ICS /COLS system
  • Knowledge of lodging Drawbacks/ Tradex / Securities and Carnets.
