Our client is a leading national manufacturer and distributor of structural building materials for the builder and trade-retail market, with over 150 employees in 6 locations. The Role:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, essentially your role is to train, lead and inspire a busy team of Internal Customer Service Reps / Account Managers (10 collectively in Vic, Tas, WA and NSW), driving growth through superior service delivery and best practice. We require someone who is emotionally intelligent and the ability to gel together a diverse and experienced team

Key Responsibilities

  • The conduit between Customer Service reps and State Managers, which invloves maintaining and improving Customer Service Processes and train the team and other stakeholders in achieving these standards
  • Create better modes of operations to make customer service easier for both team members and customers
  • Create and implement work procedures that will encourage and enhance continuous improvement within the departmental service delivery, operating procedures and standard
  • Assist the team of 10 to ensure debt collection and other major customer issues are easily resolved
  • Budgeting / Forecasting
  • Assist the State Manager and the team to drive safe work practices and work environment
  • Attend scheduled customer meetings and document minutes to communicate to the rest of the team
  • Performance reviews and objective settings


The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following skills;

  • Industry knowledge with a building materials or manufacturing background advantageous
  • Previous proven leadership experience in customer service
  • Experience in driving cultural change / change management is essential
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Service driven
  • Experience with ERP TBL or related software would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previously have dealt with large trade retail customers like Bunnings, Mitre 10, Home Timber & Hardware ect would be an added bonus
  • Eastern Suburbs based


If successful, you will receive;

  • $85,000 - 90,000 base (neg doe)
  • 9.5% Superannuation
  • No bonuses currently but likely to be implemented in July
  • Potential to develp career - head of sales and head of distribution divisions are the obvious areas
