Our partner is a privately owned small - medium sized specialist who import aesthetically pleasing high end interior products. With offices in Melbourne and Sydney, our client can boast of a large network of architects and designers and offer a customized approach to staffing, maintenance and operational needs. Typical projects our clients products are visable include luxury hotels, bars, restaurants and play areas for children. Key to their success and reputation is the focus on sustainability, ethics and collaboration - making them a highly attractive place to work

Currently, and due to significant growth in 2017, they seek an experienced hospitality focused Business Development Manager


  • Secure an existing pipeline of work
  • Identify new opportunities, whilst leveraging existing relationships across the state
  • Technical product support along with product presentations will be an ongoing part of this role
  • Undertaking training and introduction to the business
  • Take control of the existing project pipeline and ensuring they are followed to fruition
  • High level of engagement and support from the head office team including sampling etc
  • Expanding new business by creating healthy bonds between new and existing clients
  • Project management - being in sole charge of projects from the specification stage
  • Negotiating with the purchaser to receive an order
  • Making sure the client is kept up to date with the status of order
  • Delivery of product


  • An external sales background in the building products industry (min 3 years)
  • Strong network of contacts within the hospitality space - pubs, clubs, bars, hotels, restaurants, leisure, sports
  • Strong organisational, planning and negotiating skills
  • A polished presenter - articulate and well presented
  • Able to both hold and gain specifications
  • Someone capable of seeing a project through from start to finish
  • Applicants that have previously sold flooring, furniture, lighting, bathroomware, tiles, rugs or carpets, playground equipment, benchtops, architectural hardware would be welcomed, but not essential
