The Role:

  • Ensure the territory's Sales and Margin meets or exceeds budgeted expectations & that growth rates are in line with or exceed national objectives.
  • Develop & build strong personal relationships from the shop floor through to the General Manager/Business Unit Manager, Specifiers, Contractors and Installers within the territory.
  • Maintain an appropriate call cycle to key customers and end users (inc. competitor's customers) in the territory.
  • Understand and actively utilise Guiding Principles including 80/20, USa and PLS.
  • Participate in the development & (once approved) implement strategic growth initiatives and plans for the territory including such things as new customers, new services, new products, new markets.
  • Work closely with the Internal Sales team (including the project coordinators, estimators & schedulers) to ensure smooth delivery of the streams products and services.
  • Monitor (& report on) opposition activity & instigate action to retain & increase company market share.
  • Develop & submit for approval, revenue, gross margin, expenditure Budgets for the territory as requested and provide weekly sales & expense forecasts for the territory as requested.
  • Provide monthly updates (via a report) of territory performance including progress against strategic objectives & budgets as well as commentary on customer/product performance & trends.
  • Service country/Interstate customers (internal and external) if required - this may result in overnight travel.

  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated experience and results in developing and implementing growth initiatives.
  • Experience in selling products and services to the construction industry.
  • An appreciation of Customer Service & an understanding of the internal customer concept.
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of new product/service/market opportunities.
  • Have a technical and mechanical appreciation (good mechanical aptitude).
  • Self-motivated, energetic & has the ability to work both autonomously & as part of the team.
  • Confident with a desire to be known in the industry.
  • Ability to travel within the territory and interstate as required.
  • Trade experience and/or appropriate education/training would be considered favourably.
  • A degree in Engineering or Business will be highly regarded
