Job Description

BRIEF

My clients are looking for a Fit out project manager to add to their team. Required to plan and supervise construction, fit-out and refurbishment projects from start to finish. Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management of budgets, financials, programs and quality
• Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
• Project establishment and ongoing management
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
• Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
• Resource management and organisation (manpower, equipment, materials) with attention to budgetary limitations
• Programme preparation via Microsoft Project
• Ensure project compliance with WHS and environmental requirements
• BCA compliance, DC, CC and OC documentation
• Evaluate progress, prepare detailed reports and submittals
• Manage project meetings
• Continual process improvement and innovation with the senior management team
• Preparation and input of project management plans
• Providing strong support and leadership to the Site Manager and Contracts
Administrator across multiple projects
• Fostering a people first culture with internal and external parties (clients/sub contractor relationships)

REQUIREMENTS
• Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Building/Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as project manager in the construction / fit-out /refurbishment industry
Experience on fit out projects to the value of $M
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management
principles
• Comprehensive understanding of quality, safety and environmental standards
• Experience with procurement and management of design consultants including cost planners and certifiers
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong written communication skills
• A team player with leadership abilities
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project and Procore
