Fleet controller/Client Services Rep - Transport Services - Melbourne West

Your role will be to optimise productivity of the fleet for deliveries and pick-ups that meets client expectations of a quality service in terms of time, service and vehicle size; implementation, administration and reporting of the businesses fleet management process that is cost effective, efficient, meets client needs and minimises risk.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Manage all client contract requirements by allocating the most appropriate vehicles and fleet operators.
  2. Make recommendations in relation to fleet management issues.
  3. Assist with other duties as required from time to time including forklift duties
  4. Ensure sub-contractors work load falls within fatigue management guidelines.
  5. Ensure client service levels and KPIs are met.
  6. Comply and be actively involved with all relevant occupational, health, safety, security and environmental legislation, codes of practice, standards, policies, operating procedures and work instructions.
  7. Answer telephone and respond to telephone enquiries and other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
  8. Quality assurance and continuous improvement
  9. Adhere to the business' policies and procedures.
  10. Regularly identify and implement ways to improve client service and administration within this role.
  11. Contribute to ongoing review, development and implementation of changes to improve the productivity and efficiency of Metro Express operations activity
  12. Attend team meetings to discuss and monitor workflows, deadlines and deliverables.
Experience, qualifications and personal attributes
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role within a rapidly expanding company and experienced in effectively planning loads to fit within fatigue management guidelines.
  • Sound practical knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and FMS software.
  • Strong level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact and work with the business' team and external parties as required.
  • A preparedness to learn and adopt new work practices, systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently; accept responsibility and act on directives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound technical competence.
  • Self-motivated, highly efficient, proactive and professional with a respect for confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in an organisation that is expanding quickly.
  • Forklift certificate of competency.
