Commercial Litigation Lawyer - Financial Services / Insolvency

Several opportunities exist within an expanding law firm who are dedicated to delivering excellent client outcomes and supporting their team to specialize in practicing high quality law in their chosen discipline. Working alongside a team of some of the most highly awarded and specialist senior lawyers in the country, you will have the chance to deal with clientele nationally and handle interesting and prominent matters.
Junior lawyers will receive significant development opportunities and mentoring, whilst more senior applicants with be able to work in a team orientated and supportive environment, whilst maintaining the autonomy a senior practitioner would expect.
This is an opportunity to specialize in Commercial Litigation with a particular focus on Financial Services, Class Actions or Insolvency matters. This is an extremely buoyant area of practice for the firm presently. The team in Sydney continues to expand and so there will be a range of opportunities for both junior and senior lawyers. The roles will provide opportunities to appear in Court and have primary carriage of files. Supervision will be provided to more junior lawyers, whilst senior lawyers will operate independently and may be required to mentor other team members. These roles also offer the opportunity to network and become involved in marketing / client liaison.
Skills and experience
This is a varied role, demanding a qualified person with:
- At least 2 years PAE as a qualified lawyer
- Litigation experience, ideally with some exposure to financial services or insolvency matters
- Strong academic results
- Ability to work with clients effectively and communicate in a professional and technically sound manner
- Ability to network and identify marketing opportunities for the department
- Ability to identify cross referral opportunities for the wider firm
- Excellent team skills
